Turmoil to Tranquility: Tools for Keeping on Track; Birmingham Bloomfield Families in Action (MI)

$5 for BBFA Members, $20 for others pre-registered, $25 at the door (this is for the whole event, not just our workshop)

 

Workshop presented as part of BBFA’s Parenting & Wellness Fair at Lahser High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.  The keynote speaker is Dr. Michele Borba, Today Show parenting expert and childcare for kids ages 2-12 is available for $5 per child (advance registration required).

 

Interactive workshop where participants will learn strategies to overcome challenges related to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).  We will explore specific challenges such as academic problems, troublesome household routines and other needs of the participants.  You will leave the workshop with an action plan tailored to one of your specific goals.

Coaching provides adults with ADHD an avenue to set goals, develop robust action plans to achieve them and hold themselves accountable for the follow up.  Some of the goals that clients can achieve include the following:

  •  Getting to meetings on-time and prepared.
  • Organizing a work project to achieve high quality results on time.
  • Prioritize my work effectively so I don’t feel overwhelmed

Attend this meeting of the Eastern Oakland County CHADD chapter to learn what coaching does and how you can immediately apply the principles to your challenges.

 

Pre-registration is not required.  Meetings are held at Way Elementary School, 765 West Long Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302.

Do you want to help your child or teenager

  • overcome their attention-related challenges, 
  • develop academic and social solutions, and 
  • establish time-saving routines? 

This interactive class will explore the ways in which you can coach your child or teenager to prevail over their challenges related to attention deficit disorders. You will learn strategies to help your child right away and develop an action plan to address one of your specific goals. Even if your child is not diagnosed with ADHD, you will learn practical and valuable information.

In this interactive workshop, parents will learn strategies to help their children overcome the challenges related to Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).  We will explore specific challenges such as 

organization, household routines, time management and academic challenges.  Participants will leave the workshop with an action plan tailored to at least one of their specific goals to help their children.

 

The workshop will be held at the Kelly Activity Center at the corner of Dorchester and Somerset Park.

 

Workshop Objectives: 

  1. Understand how coaching can help overcome attention-related challenges related to AD/HD and ADD. 
  2. Equip parents to help their children develop academic, social and family solutions. 
  3. Learn how to establish time-saving routines for morning, bedtime and other daily events. 
  4. Develop a customized goal and action plan that can be implemented immediately.
